APICAL GROUP STATEMENT ON RECRUITMENT SCAM

Jakarta, 18 February 2021 – Apical Group is aware of a scam that involves online platforms impersonating the company and are defrauding jobseekers by soliciting payments.

Apical Group and its business units have no association with these platforms. We do not solicit, collect or receive any payments at any stage of our recruitment process. We will also not hesitate to pursue legal action against anyone who uses and infringes our intellectual property.

We have reported the matter to the Indonesian Police. We urge all jobseekers who have made payments to such entities to immediately make a police report.

We advise members of the public to be vigilant of the methods used to defraud jobseekers, as follows:

  • Unauthorized use of Apical’s trademark and content.
  • A two-day recruitment drive that has tests, interviews, selection process and offers.
  • As part of this process, jobseekers were asked to book transportation and accommodation via a travel agent and were promised reimbursement.
  • An address that resembles the address of our operations.

PERNYATAAN APICAL GROUP TENTANG PENIPUAN PEREKRUTAN

Jakarta, 18 Februari 2021 – Apical Group mengetahui adanya penipuan yang melibatkan platform online yang mengatasnamakan unit bisnis Apical dan mengelabui pencari kerja dengan meminta pembayaran.

Apical Group dan unit bisnisnya tidak memiliki hubungan dengan pihak tersebut. Kami tidak meminta, mengumpulkan, atau menerima pembayaran pada tahap manapun dalam proses perekrutan kami. Kami juga tidak ragu untuk mengambil tindakan hukum kepada siapapun yang menggunakan dan melanggar kekayaan intelektual kami.

Kami telah melaporkan masalah tersebut kepada pihak Kepolisian Republik Indonesia bagian cybercrime. Kami mohon kepada semua calon pencari kerja yang telah melakukan pembayaran kepada pihak tersebut untuk segera membuat laporan polisi.

Kami menyarankan seluruh masyarakat untuk selalu waspada terhadap metode yang digunakan dalam upaya penipuan tersebut, sebagai berikut:

  • Penggunaan tanpa izin terhadap merek dagang dan konten Apical.
  • Konsep perekrutan dua hari yang meliputi tes, wawancara, proses seleksi dan penawaran.
  • Pemesanan transportasi dan akomodasi bagi calon pencari kerja melalui agen perjalanan dan dijanjikan penggantian.
  • Alamat yang menyerupai alamat operasi kami.

At Apical Group, our commitment to sustainability stems right from the top. Apical’s President is supported by the Director of Sustainability and various business heads, to ensure sustainability is integrated within business and functional units, and embedded in the company’s core values and initiatives.

Sustainability topics are discussed at Board meetings held quarterly. We also have dedicated Sustainability teams based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Pekanbaru, Dumai, Medan, Jakarta and Balikpapan in Indonesia. The Sustainability teams are tasked with implementing and monitoring our commitments through constructive stakeholder engagement and collaboration.

In addition, there is also a dedicated Social, Security and Licensing (SSL) department in each refinery we own, to handle social and licensing matters in compliance with national regulations as well as Apical Sustainability Policy. The team also oversees Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes to support better livelihoods in local communities.

Achieving sustainability goals requires more than just collaboration with our key stakeholders. Collaboration across industries and peer companies is also crucial and hence, we constantly look for and participate in new partnerships, relevant industry membership and certification schemes.
