This event was not just about showcasing Apical’s range of functional and specialty fats products; it also involved the active participation of numerous micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), known as the backbone of Indonesia’s economy.  Apical provided small business owners in Sekar Puteh, Sumenep, East Java, with recipes and cooking classes in order to inspire them to create commercially viable products.

George Reuel Tjiptamustika, Business Development Manager at Apical Group, explained, “Through this event, we aim to stimulate the growth of SMEs in the food industry while enhancing Apical’s brand image. We hope that the various product recipes we’re sharing will serve as inspiration for SMEs. We are fully committed to supporting SMEs in improving the quality of their products, thus contributing to sustainable economic growth.”

During the event, Apical’s Technical Baker, Chef Heri Teguh, and Chef Teddy Kosasih led the audience through the preparation of various delectable dishes created using Apical products.

The event was abuzz with activity as customers of Dewi Sri Cake Supplies and local SMEs had the opportunity to taste these dishes firsthand. They were also inspired to explore the exceptional recipes shared by Apical.

Apical showcased the versatility of Medalia Margarine, ideal for crafting sweet bread and creamy fillings. Vitas Cake Margarine/Vitas Supreme, on the other hand, added delightful fragrances and flavors to their donuts.

Furthermore, Apical demonstrated that Vitas Cake can be used to make delicious Tiger Roll pastries. Not to forget Frybest, a high-quality solid frying oil perfect for preparing crispy fried chicken and donuts without excessive oiliness.

Vitas Cake Margarine, a premium product with a buttery essence enriched with vitamins A, D, B1, B2, and E, was spotlighted for crafting cakes and bread. Vitas BOS, a vegetable fat-based margarine alternative, was presented as an excellent choice for making cakes, cupcakes, sweet bread, and high-quality baked goods.

In addition to the cooking demonstration in Sumenep, Apical plans to host the “Apical Collaboration” event on October 20, 2023. This event will provide the general public with an opportunity to sample a variety of culinary creations made from Apical products.

This ongoing initiative will be extended to various cities across Indonesia, with the intention of gauging public preferences and requirements concerning Apical products. This feedback will guide Apical in its ongoing efforts to innovate and evolve in line with consumer demands.

At the “Apical Collaboration” event, Apical’s culinary experts will craft sumptuous mooncakes using functional fats products like Vitas Cake and Vitas Butter Oil Substitute (BOS)/Vitas Supreme Margarine.

The food industry plays a pivotal role in Indonesia’s economy, not only contributing significantly to economic turnover but also providing substantial employment opportunities. In the first quarter of 2023, the food and beverage sector contributed 38.61% to the non-oil and gas industrial GDP, accounting for 6.47% of the national GDP. Data from the Ministry of Industry underscored the ability of SMEs in the food and beverage sector to employ 3.6 million workers, solidifying its status as a labor-intensive industry.
